The BS in Exercise Science degree prepares you to become a leader in the exercise science field with an emphasis on lifelong health, fitness, and well-being. Our program integrates foundational coursework in anatomy, physiology, and specialized studies in women's health–including exercise prescription, nutrition, and reproductive and hormone health.

This program allows students to experience all the aspects of cinematic storytelling, from screenwriting, to production, to editing and sound design. Students can choose from several concentrations, including audio production, cinematography, documentary, film studies, producing, professional photography and writing.

The Weekend/Evening & Online College at Mount Saint Mary’s is designed for working individuals and those already in the media industry, as well as those who would like to pursue studio internships or work on their projects full time. The program offers certifications in industry-leading software suites like ProTools, Avid Media Composer and DaVinci Resolve so graduates can get ahead in the competitive film and television job market.

Headquartered at MSMU’s studio in Hollywood, the Mount’s film programs encourage collaborative filmmaking, innovative thinking and a critical, hands-on understanding of new technologies while using the latest equipment. This program provides students with all the essential skills to create and produce professional films and build a body of work that demonstrates their abilities in each aspect of the creative and technical process in a professional studio setting. Concentrations include screenwriting, producing, documentary, cinematography, photography, editing, acting, and music production and sound design.

This is a comprehensive program leading to proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Incorporated into the program is French and Francophone literature, culture and civilization.

The minor in gender and media prepares students of any major to critically analyze the role and representation of women — and gender as a whole — in the entertainment industry and empowers students to be forces for positive change and gender equality.

The two-year, 36-unit general counseling psychology specialization allows students to develop core counseling skills that apply across a range of nonprofit and educational settings. In addition, these students develop skills to act as change agents who will advocate for diverse and underserved populations.

GIS (geographic information systems) is a field of study that combines spatial theory, GIS technology and software, geographic data and analysis (including GPS and field work), and cartographic design principles for the purpose of exploring and understanding the world around us from a spatial perspective.

Geospatial criminology combines a strong foundation in crime theory with a practical skillset of Geographic Information Sciences (GIS). This major positions students on the cutting-edge of the industry and provides numerous career opportunities in law enforcement.

Gerontology as a discipline is an exploration of the biopsychosocial dimensions of life course development, with an emphasis on the United States’ rapidly growing senior population. Choose from career options that include case and care management; social work; nonprofit or private care management, and much more. Plus, earning a minor in gerontology from the Mount provides a solid background for graduate studies in social work, public policy and law.

The global politics major has been developed within the Mount’s social justice framework with a strong foundation in engaging course work, undergraduate research training and exciting opportunities for high-impact course trips. The master’s in humanities is a dynamic and flexible interdisciplinary program designed for students with a lifelong interest in cultivating a deeper understanding of the world. This program offers four concentrations: Cultural studies, English, history and creative writing. Humanities provide a broad range of knowledge and skills that can lead to a variety of employment opportunities.

Based on standardized outcomes set by ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language), the intermediate Spanish certificate provides students with proof that they can interact at a professional level with native speakers within standard cultural norms, abroad or in the United States.

The international relations minor provides students with a deeper understanding of relations between states, a broader understanding of governmental systems outside of the United States, and a deeper appreciation for the impact of globalization on diverse communities.
