What is a Makerspace, anyway?

Generally, a makerspace is a room or area dedicated to hands-on discovery. This space is stocked with the tools, supplies, and other resources needed to facilitate your creative projects. You may arrive with an idea (or even a half-baked idea!) and leave with a finished product. The goal of the makerspace is to further your experiential or kinesthetic learning skills and encourage your appetite for innovation, collaboration, and creativity!

The Makerspace @ Chalon

Visit the makerspace at Chalon Campus and create to your heart's content. Use the 3D printer or laser engraver, weave on a loom, bind a book, design a t-shirt or mug -- the possibilities are almost endless!

The M³LAB is a space where everyone is welcome, and which inspires creativity and collaboration! Some activities will make you think critically; others will turn your thoughts into action.

We support a maker culture where:

  • Everyone shares responsibility for safety.
  • We help one another and are receptive to feedback.
  • We support one another.
  • Innovation is encouraged.
  • Positive experiences are created.
  • Everyone follows the Athenian promise.

This space has been created with the support of the W.M. Keck Foundation.
