Shape your future

Rooted in the Mount’s liberal arts tradition, the program integrates key themes such as global business, management communication, business ethics and innovative management into every course. This approach encourages curiosity and adaptability, preparing students to thrive in diverse and dynamic business environments.

BA in Business Administration

For the Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration degree, the Mount students can choose from five emphases: accounting, international business, management, marketing and social impact and sustainability. The students can take more than one emphasis if they so prefer; full-time students can still graduate on time, while those balancing other responsibilities might take longer.

Choose the degree specialization that’s right for your personal career objectives:

Students choose to emphasize accounting when they wish to enter private, public and governmental accounting as a career path. Students in this program are prepared in the practical areas of tax accounting, cost accounting and auditing as well as the application of computer techniques to corporate accounting systems. Graduates will qualify for employment in corporate accounting departments, public accounting firms and governmental agencies, making high 5-/low 6-figure salaries.

An emphasis on international business prepares students for international management, finance and government service. Designed for individuals with an interest in business on a global scale, the Mount’s program concentrates on the social, political and economic aspects of the international marketplace.

The program’s “well-kept secret,” management emphasis houses the human resources (HR) program at the Mount. This emphasis offers a curriculum based on practical, applied courses that qualify students to enter administrative positions immediately after graduation. Courses prepare students in the practical areas of HR, real estate and business law, opening various career opportunities for graduates with large, mid-size and small organizations.

An emphasis that increased in popularity over the recent years, marketing provides students with a strategic orientation in the areas of advertising, social media, public relations, design, sales, research and marketing management. Marketing students get the opportunity to compete in the regional version of the National Student Advertising Competition, getting experience in putting together a PR book, filming a commercial and more. Real clients such as Indeed and Tide serve as competition judges, offering a unique opportunity for students to stand out. The program graduates leave prepared for marketing-related careers in the public and private sectors.

Social impact and sustainability emphasis is the entrepreneurial, philanthropic arm of business administration. Designed for those who want to make the world a better place, the program provides students with practical knowledge and tools to address global social and environmental problems such as poverty, homelessness, violence, climate change, healthcare disparities and more. The emphasis prepares students for careers that create social impact and financial sustainability in entrepreneurial ventures and in the public and private sectors.
