Apply to the Mount

We’re excited that you’re interested in applying to Mount Saint Mary’s University, a women’s university that offers select co-educational programs. We look forward to reviewing your application.

December 1 - Early action deadline

Students who complete their application by December 1 will receive their admission decision by mid-January. This is not a binding commitment. Students who are interested in the following programs must apply by the Early Action Deadline:

  • Le Puy Founders' Scholarship
  • The Honors Program

January 15 - Priority deadline

Students interested in being considered for Direct Entry to Nursing must submit their applications by this date. Students who complete their application by January 15 will receive their admission decision by the end of February. This is not a binding commitment.

After January 15 - Rolling admission

We will continue to receive and review applications throughout the spring and summer as spaces are available, including Direct Entry to Nursing. International applicants must apply by August 1, but if you are outside of the U.S. and require an F-1 visa interview, you are advised to apply no later than May 1 to allow time for the visa application process.

Submit:

  • A completed application, which includes your personal essay. We offer two ways for students to apply; both applications are FREE.
  • High school transcript
    • We accept unofficial transcripts for application review. Once you decide to enroll, you will need to submit an official transcript by July 1.
    • To submit your OFFICIAL high school transcript:
      • You can request this through your school's digital transcript system (such as Parchment, SCOIR, Naviance, etc.)
      • Your counselor can email it directly to admissions@msmu.edu
      • Your school can mail it to Office of Admission, 10 Chester Place, Los Angeles, CA 90007
  • Recommendation letters are NOT required for domestic students.
    • Recommendation letters are required only for international students but may be added after application submission. Recommendation letters for all other first-year applicants are optional.

Note that SAT and/or ACT scores are neither required nor considered.

Students who were previously admitted to Mount Saint Mary's but did not enroll here or at another institution may complete our first-year reapplication form instead of resubmitting a new application. An updated personal statement (250-500 words) is required with the reapplication form. There is no reapplication fee, and letters of recommendation are not required.
