Adam G. Weyhaupt PhD joined Mount Saint Mary’s University in July 2025 as the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs.  In this role, he is responsible for working collaboratively and creatively with staff and faculty across the university to implement a vision and strategy for Academic Affairs that supports academic excellence and student success.

Adam holds a BA and BS from Eastern Illinois University in mathematics and computer science and earned his MA and PhD in mathematics from Indiana University.  His professional journey began at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he served as a faculty member, graduate program director, and department chair.  In 2016, he joined Fontbonne University as Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and was later named Provost and Executive Vice President.

Adam is passionate about teaching and has taught a wide range of courses, from preparatory mathematics to advanced graduate courses.  As a researcher, his interests have varied to enable collaboration with students and colleagues, ranging from mathematical models of soap bubbles called “triply periodic minimal surfaces” to an application of voting theory in statistics.  (Stop by his office at the Chalon or Doheny campuses and ask him about some of the mathematical books and objects in his office!)

Adam is an associate member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet and is inspired by their brave efforts to love and serve God and the dear neighbor without distinction.  He and his wife Julia hail from the Saint Louis, Missouri, area.  They have two adult children: their youngest is a student-athlete at Cornell College in Iowa, and their oldest is a mechanic who has made them proud grandparents.  Adam’s service in the community has included ScoutsBSA (formerly Boy Scouts of America) and Rotary International.
